BREAKING NEWS: Protest Rocks Nairobi Just Minutes After Matiangi's Release form DCI

The country is hanging on the balance and the current witch hunt by the Ruto administration on some top public officials in the previous administration is likely to make the country volatile. Coupled with the denouncement of Raila Odinga that they do not recognize the legitimacy of William Ruto's government, things are likely to boil out and the country might purge into civil war if civility is not maintained.

The recent attack on former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi has been termed by the Azimio camp as with hunt because of his close working relationship with the former President Uhuru Kenyatta. With Matiangi already in the radar of state agencies and his summon today to the DCI headquarters, riot might start brewing up as a section of Kenyans will be seeing this as a fight on their community.

Today after the former CS was released from custody of the DCI, and the barring of Raila Odinga from accessing the DCI headquarters, a section of Gusii residents have this evening staged a serious protests in the city from the DCI offices along Kiambu road towards town. The protesters were lamenting against the Ruto regime for trying to fix one of their own following the bitter breakup with the boss (Ruto).

As this protests gains momentum, several leaders who spoke after Matiangi's release said that Ruto is trailing on a very thin wire and his with hunt on Dr Matiangi will come to eat him. Speaking to the press, Hon Eugene Wamalwa and Hon Otiende Omollo SC who were among the leaders who accompanied Dr Matiangi to the DCI said that this is a fight against democracy and a stability of democracy.

"Let this government know that when you think you are mistreating Dr Matiang’i as a person, you are lowering the standing of the office he held. You are demonstrating to everyone that we are not a stable democracy, we are going towards a banana republic." Otiende Amollo SC.

Hon Wamalwa on his part said that Ruto is on a vengeance mission and that it's very bad to fight a senior officer like Matiangi who worked for the government for several years at different positions.

"We are convinced as a legal team that what is going on here is a vendetta, what we are talking about is vengeance by William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza team against Matiang’i. For us who served with Matiang’i, we know there was some differences between him and Ruto." Eugene Wamalwa.
