Ruto Appoints Ally CS Without Portfolio and Party's Secretary General
President William Ruto has continued to streamline his government with key appointments being given to his allies and those who stood by him during the August polls. Just the other day, the Public Service Commission (PSC) released a list of the potential Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS) where it emerged that over 99% were Ruto's close allies from the last general elections.
The likes of former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala who successful vied for the Gubernatorial seat after he lost to Azimio's Fernandes Barasa was also topping in the list of the potential CAS.
Reports reaching news desks has revealed that Cleophas Malala has been appointed as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) secretary General and also a Cabinet Secretary without any portfolio. Malala takes over from Veronica Maina who was appointed to the Senate.
Malala missed Ruto's key appointments like CS and PS positions but now he has finnally handed him a docket within his administration as basically a reward for his loyalty to the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Malala also becomes a second person to hold a CS position without portfolio after former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju also held a similar position where he was even attending Cabinet meetings.
