Reactions as Kenya Donates 240 Tons of aid to Turkey
Kenya donates 240 tons of aid to Turkey, including tents and blankets.
Over the last few days, the countries of Turkiye and Syria have been grabbling with the earthquake that hit the two nations leaving over 50,000 people dead. Countries from all over the world have been aiding in the rescue mission with others sending aid to help the affected families.
Kenya, through the foreign affairs Cabinet Secretary Dr Alfred Mutua, also earlier on announced that the Kenyan government was also going to stand with Turkiye to help them during this hard times. This is after Dr Mutua met with the Turkish ambassador to Kenya where they discussed on how they will help the nation.
Today, Turkey has benefited from Kenyan donation after receiving tons of aid to help her citizens following a devastating earthquake. The donation which was flown to the country via the Turkish Cargo plane in collaboration with the United Nations Organization for Migration (IOM) in Nairobi, Kenya donated 240 tonnes of aid material to Turkey.
Among the materials donated include; 353 tents, 17,245 plastic tarpaulin sheets, 1,261 plastic tarpaulin rolls, 26,565 blankets and 34,705 sleeping mats.
This gesture of goodwill has however left Kenyans reacting with some praising the Ruto administration for doing this while others castigating it. Below are some reactions;
