Middle Finger to DCI as Dr Matiangi Declines to Honour their Summon as his Lawyer Reveals this Information
Former Interior CS Dr Fred Matiangi has been on loggerhead with tye security agencies in Kenya following his dramatic raid at his Karen residence a couple of days ago. This has since caused some tussle between the security agencies and the court where court orders have been issued one after the other over the matter.
The DCI, yesterday issued an order demanding the former CS to appear before it without failure for some interrogation. This was to aid them in the prob over the alleged raid by unidentified police officers at his Karen home.
It has however emerged that despite those orders by the DCI on Dr Matiangi, the former CS failed to honor them. According to his lawyer Danson Omari, he said that the summons was inconsequential as that there is a court order barring the DCI from arresting his client nor summoning him.
"There are no valid summons for him to attend," Omari stated.
Dr. Matiang’i was asked to avail himself at 9:30 am to record a statement. Senior DCI sleuths were already on the ground waiting to receive him. With the anticipatory bail still in order, Dr Matiangi cannot be arrested .
Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Amin Mohamed was yet to issue a statement on Lawyer Omari's response to the summons and what other step they will take after Matiangi failed to appear before them.
