Despite the sweet promises made by president William Ruto during campaigns that his administration will be cantered to help uplift the lives of the common mwanaichi and make it manageable, things seems to be getting even worse than they were before. Just yesterday, a taskforce that was reviewing the education reforms recommended to president Ruto that university fees for government -sponsored students to be reviewed from Kshs 16,000 to Kshs 52,000.

This recommendation is likely to hurt a majority of Kenyans with some learners likely to drop out of school.

Even as that continues, Kenyans from the Mathare estate in Nairobi have today staged a demonstration in city where they matched from Mathare to deputy president Rigathi Gachagua's office to protest over high school dropout rates that has increased in the recent days.DP Gachagua: Raila's planned demonstrations are just a ploy towards  handshake with Ruto

The protesters said that the tough economic times has made it difficult for them to raise school fees and their learners are now left with no choice but to stay at home.
