Gov't Issues Warning After Viral Video Of Women Playing With Rare ‘Pënis Plants’

 Nepenthes bokorensis is a climbing plant, attaining a height of up to 7 m. In rosettes and on lower parts of the plant, the stem is up to 0.9 cm thick and circular in cross section. On climbing parts, the stem is terete and measures up to 1 cm in diameter.

Cambodian government has sent a warning after a viral video showed three women plucking a very rare plant's flowers in Bokor Mountain in the Southeast Asian country’s Kampot province. From the viral video, the young ladies were seen exited while plucking and holding the p*NIS plants known as Nepenthes bokorensis.

Through a statement, the Cambodian Ministry of Environment, in a Facebook post, advised it's citizens and tourist against plucking that plant for fears of extinction.

“What they are doing is wrong and do not do it again in the future! Thank you for loving natural resources, but do not pick, (or) they will be ruined!” the statement reads.
