Worries as Another Female Cop from Langata Police Posts these Online Leaving the Internet Confused
Most female police officers have been complaining of being harassed by their bosses who want to take advantage of them. This has been going for a while to the extent that some have come out openly to share their predicament with the public. This started when a traffic female cop based in the coastal region came out asking the Inspector General to relieve her duties citing harassment and corruption in the service. She went ahead to say that he has been going through stressful times and wanted to go back home and work as a civilian.
Days later, another female cop based at Langata also took to her social media account to share the same woes she has been going through at the hands of her bosses. She said that all her woes started when she was pregnant and when she asked for maternal leave she was denied. Constable Rehema Swaleh has been calling for the police service to intervene but it seems nothing is being worked on.
Barely months later Constable Rehema has come out again claiming that she is being mistreated by the OCS and OCPD from the Langata police station. She went ahead to reveal that she was assigned to another police station for unknown reasons by her OCS who didn’t even give her any explanations.
She also said that she has since been called by the disciplinary committee for failing to show up at her new place of work. The frustrated cop has now asked the police service to intervene and help in solving the confusion that she is experiencing.
The incident has since attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans who are now asking the PSC to take up the matter urgently and resolve it to prevent police officers from getting into depression with some turning to be rogue officers for the stress and frustrations faced at work.
