Shock Among Kenyans as 6Kg Gas Expected to Hit sh 2600 as New Price Takes Effect
The lives of Kenyans is expected to become more unbearable following the latest move by the government to increase the cost of basic commodities. In specific, the cost of refiling gas was reported to have increased several times after the energy regulator Energy Petroleum and Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced and increase by 30%.
The new prices means that Kenyans will have to dig deeper into their pockets to get the much needed product. According to Citizen TV which said that it carried a spot check, it revealed that the cost of a 6 kg gas had increased from Ksh 1800 to Ksh 2600 with the 13 kg gas hitting Ksh 3100.
With the new prices now in place, most Kenyans have decried about it saying that it's unbearable and this will force some to shift to other forms of cooking like charcoal and firewood which are fairly cheap.
With the cost of electricity also high, this will indeed be a pain in most Kenyans who are struggling to make ends meet.
